3 by Tennessee Williams

June 13th-15th @ 8pm and June 16th at 2pm and 7pm Paramount Hudson Valley Arts' (501c3) Executive Director John Amato is proud to announce Recovery Rep's Production of '3 By Tennessee Williams,' which consists of three one act plays penned by one of the greatest playwrights of the twentieth century: Tennessee Williams. Unlike many playwrights, Williams (The Glass Menagerie, Street Car Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and many others) continued to create short plays throughout his long and storied career. 'Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen,' 'This Property is Condemned,' and 'I Can't Imagine Tomorrow' are three enigmatic and surprising works chosen for this evening.

'These three plays illuminate the struggle of those who feel alien to the society that surrounds them' said Daniel Amenda, who will direct all three plays. 'It shows their strengths and their flaws, and methods on coping. These plays also show our commitment to Recovery Rep's core mission bringing work to the stage that deals with the grip of addiction along their relevancy of being well-crafted theatrical pieces.'

Amenda has spent the last 30 years as an actor, teacher, and director on the New York City Theater Scene. His work as a director has been celebrated by the Nation Magazine, Village Voice, St. Petersburg Times, Women Around Town and several other publications. Mr. Amenda most recently conceived, produced, and directed 'Whitman by Fire,' an arranged work by Michael Fegley and Amenda, to present Whitman's work under the stars, by campfire. That show is currently in negations for a cross country tour.

About Recovery Rep and Paramount Hudson Valley: Recovery Rep's Mission is to provide work for professional artists who are recovering from addiction, and the organization provides outreach into the recovery community. Amenda remarks: 'There is no shortage of anecdotal evidence that theater can changed people's lives and paths from both sides of the stage. Paramount Hudson Valley is a terrific home for us since it is based where the opioid epidemic has had a large negative impact. We are bringing artists, craftsman and audience members together to show those struck by addiction that there is another path, not only by our productions, but by our deeds.'
